To approve, and the Mayor to sign as a correct record, the Minutes of the meeting of Council held on 17 May 2023.

RESOLVED:

That the Minutes of the meeting of the Council held on 17 May 2023 be approved and signed by the Mayor as a correct record.

Councillors to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests, other registerable interests, or non-registerable interests (including other pecuniary interests) they may have in the business to be transacted, and officers to declare any interests they may have in any contract to be considered.

To receive any announcements.

The Mayor made announcements in respect of:

(a)          The election of the Youth Mayor and Deputy Youth Mayor;

(b)         A Ward Boundary Review briefing for all Councillors; and

(c)          Armed Forces Day.

To consider, upon the retirement of His Honour Judge Anthony Hughes:

·      the appointment of His Honour Judge Patrick Perusko as Honorary Recorder for the City of Milton Keynes for the duration of his tenure as Senior Circuit Judge; and

·      a vote of thanks to His Honour Judge Anthony Hughes for his exemplary service as Honorary Recorder.

Note: The role of Honorary Recorder is entirely ceremonial and does not entail any specific duties, but reflects the important link between Milton Keynes City Council and the judiciary. The power for the Council to appoint an Honorary Recorder is contained in section 54 of Courts Act 1971 and is usually reserved to Senior Circuit Judges or Resident Judges for the period that they remain in that role.
