CL14(e)

Appointment of Honorary Recorder

To consider, upon the retirement of His Honour Judge Anthony Hughes:

·      the appointment of His Honour Judge Patrick Perusko as Honorary Recorder for the City of Milton Keynes for the duration of his tenure as Senior Circuit Judge; and

·      a vote of thanks to His Honour Judge Anthony Hughes for his exemplary service as Honorary Recorder.

Note: The role of Honorary Recorder is entirely ceremonial and does not entail any specific duties, but reflects the important link between Milton Keynes City Council and the judiciary. The power for the Council to appoint an Honorary Recorder is contained in section 54 of Courts Act 1971 and is usually reserved to Senior Circuit Judges or Resident Judges for the period that they remain in that role.

The Council received a petition from residents of Downham Road, Woburn Sands requesting a 20 MPH speed limit for the road.
